The LORD revives - 40-day Fast & Pray

"Transforming the nation through the local church" is the aim of this programme

As the whole nation's Christian gather & pray as 1 for this nation, may this nation be transformed!
This programme have 2 objective - 1. pray for this nation as 1 united body of Christ 2. Charity by donating the meal money that was saved to be put to use for God's Kingdom.

How do we fast? We can fast a certain meal (like skipping lunch), abstain from certain activity (no tv, computer games etc), certain type of food (go vegetarian). The main idea for fasting is that it will cost you something. If its too convenient & dont cost anything, then its not fasting.

Why do we fast? For me, this is because that it will help us to focus on God more. Bring us closer to God, as we fast & pray.

Here is the prayer guide for 1st week (22-7 until 28-7) -
Day 1 -
"Believers do not pray with the view of informing God about things unknown to Him, or of exciting Him to do His duty, of of urging Him as though He were reluctant. On the contrary, they pray in order that they may arouse themselves to seek Him, that they may exercise their faith in meditating on His promise, that they may relieve themselves from their anxieties by pouring them into His bosom; in a word that they may declare that from Him alone they hope and expect, both for themselves and for others, all good things." - John Calvin (1509-1564, French reformed theologian)

Dedicate "40-day Fast & Pray" to God. Acknowledge His Lordship over all areas of our lives - personal, family, church, community, the marketplace, our nation/government, and the world.

PRAY - Psalm 36:5-10

Personal - Looking Inward (Day 2-7)
Believers' individual transformation is essential as it establishes the only realistic hope of transformation of the families, the community, the marketplace, the nation, and the world. May God's righteousness be revealed in our transformed living! May He revive us for His Glory!

Day 2 (Jul 23, Wed) - Ps 51
- Confession (vv 1-4)
- Petition (vv 10-13)

Day 3 (Jul 24, Thu) - Rom 12:1-8
- To present my body as a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God
- Fix my attention on God that i may be totally change from the inside
out, allowing God to bring the best out of me.
- Wisdom, guidance and strength to exercise my spiritual gifts with humility.

Day 4 (Jul 25, Fri) - Rom 12:9-13
- Let my act of love be real and sincere, holding on to what is good and turning away from evil
- Treat my brothers and sisters in Christ with affection and honour
- My attitudes in serving others be pleasing to God
- Be generous in serving others be pleasing to God
- Be generous and hospitable to our brothers and sisters in need

Congratulation!!!! Lets celebrate!

Congrats to all YC members that manage to attend the Memory Challenge. All did very well. Pat yourself on the back =)

The results are out a few weeks back. At least 50% of participants manage to score 90% & above. Such a great achievement! Keep it up ok. Congrats to Evie's cg for coming up top in the CG challenge but dont rest on your laurel. We will come up tops next round.

We have just started with the 2nd memory challenge. 1 verse so far. Hope to have better result for this new round.
Word of encouragements -dont try to memorise last minute. haha. do it regularly.

Hey all my fellow Youth Connected Woman and Man of God~!!! =] (if ur in doubt over ur own gender pls contact derek as this requires godly counseling OR Pray real REAL hard..haha) Well this is my 2^nd time writing a post for YC..woohoooo~!!! Last Sunday 25^th May,we had an AWESOME time at youth!! For those who didn’t come…Tooooo BAD~!!!! We get to eat ur portion of the bday cake and indulge in the super SUPER whacky game arranged by Evelyn =] im sure at this time ur wonderin “wat bday cake?!!!”…HAHAHAHAHAHA it was……*suspense*

The day the YC have been waiting for !!!

Howdy youths,

A lil update for all after such a long time, and its an important event.
This coming Sunday (29th June 08) will be a great YC event. Finally its D-day.
We will be having the 1st ever Memory Verse Challenge for this year. No more trial run or mock test.
Finally its the real thing! R u ready? Just 7 verses to memorise & write out again in exact detail to the NIV version.
Kacang putih, rite? rite?

I will be seeing all of you youths on Sunday then.

This month we will be concentration on CG. Always good to be grounded in the Word of the Lord.

YC Updates April 2008

Sorry for the late updates. Lots of thing have been happening in the ed's life (in church & outside church, totally the ed's fault). By God's grace, all things will fall into place soon.

Here is some current updates 1st to keep all you youths out there updated.
There will be some really happening events going to happen soon.

1. April 27 (Sun) - YC Meeting as usual ... Not!
Pr Noah & his happening team will be coming to lead us in a super time of worship followed by God's Word thru Pr Noah. He promised that it will be short ;) If not mistaken, he promised that it wont go pass the 3 hour mark. hihi

2. May 3 (Sat) - Youth United (YU) gathering.
This time round, it will be a prayer meet. We will be praying for all the EFC youth groups mainly. All YC youths are invited to come & join the prayers. Even tho its stated in the bible that only 2 or 3 are needed for God's presence to be there, lets just up the volume. Youths Unite! Lets be a loud voice petitioning His people's need to Him.

3. Aug 8 - 13 (Fri - Wed) - One LIFE exhibition
World Vision is organising again the One LIFE exhibition in Aug 08. This exhibition have been held 3 times already thru out Malaysia. Its focusing on Aids & Child trafficking.
WARNING - Due to the very strong material, only youths age 15 & above is allowed in.
Free entry! Venue : Dream center, DUMC.
