Yo, YC Youths,

Hows your week so far? Its already the 3rd day of the week. Been too busy lepaking. Soli. Should hav blog earlier :) 1st thing 1st - YC Youth Camp 2007. (Would it sound better as YC squared).
Here is the details - do invite yourself & frens to join in a great, exciting, exilarating, fun, challenging (hmnnn how many more adjective i can come out with? well y dun u all come & find out urself? :p )
Theme - "The Challenge" Youth Camp 2007
Venue - Broga Campsite, Broga, N Sembilan (about 1 hour drive only)
Date - 8th - 10th December (Sat - Mon) 3days 2nite
Camp Speaker - Joshua Liong
Camp Fee - RM180 only
Activities planned - Flying Fox, NITE Jungle walk, pond rafting so far.
Deadline for registration - 31 Oct 2007 (End of this month) Lots of logistic to confirm & sign up fast & block out those dates for Youth Camp.

The 2nd item to let you all know - This Sunday, 7th Oct 07, YC will be having a speaker; brother Andrew from Faith City Church (if i m not mistaken, pls correct me if i m wrong). Lack of sleep etc will do that your memory ;) No matter what, come & be renew by God's WORD! ok? ok!

Happy Mooncake Latern Festival

Yo guys n gals, long time no c. Finally another post after 2 hectic weeks. First of all, a Happy Mooncake Latern festival to all or Midsummer Autumn festival to everyone.
What a nice full moon out there in the sky now! Ready to burn some candles, light some laterns, eat some mooncakes & enjoy the moon? :) Wont it be fun to enjoy it with family & friends.

Its been a great Sunday. We manage to hear a very good speaker for youth connection, Pastor Gurmit Singh. I m sure all that were around were touched. A good show up from the youths too; at least 15 to 20 ppl. For those that cant make it, we are missing u ok. C u soon.

This coming Sunday, YC will be having a movie screening. It will be a good time to enjoy the fellowship, relax & take a break. I am sure it will be a good movie! Come c & be touch by it!

Wait there's more, this Friday, there will be a prayer meeting in SS1. Feel the need to pray for others. Come join us then. Some of the CORE leaders will be there. Inform Evie, our prayer minister that you are coming, k.

Merdeka! & coming YC event updates

Just wanted wish all a belated Happy Merdeka! to all. Its a 3 days late but better late than never, right? How was your long weekend? Had fun? Do share with us all when possible.

A short update for now.
Next sunday (9-9-2007), YC is organizing a trip to a concert by a Christian band called 1AM.

Departure from USJ1 : 1.15pm
Mode of transport : driving down (2 cars so far)

Reminding all YC youths, please do come & hang with the gang. Join us for lunch earlier or eat lunch and meet up after that. Please inform CG leaders if you are confirmed going. This will help with the transportation.

Reality Event | Survivor : Revisited | UPDATE

Hey yo people! Here's more info on da reality event!

Basically, you'll all be split into 4 huge teams. Be rest easy, as we'll try our best to put you with the 2 preferred teammates you have chosen in your form (of course you do understand that they'll have to have their own forms too right?)

Those of you who are completely lost should scroll down and download the Survivor:Revisited registration form!

Plus, all contestants should bring:

- An extra change of clothes
- A bottle of water

Oh, we accept printed or photocopied forms so let's get this party started and pump up the competition! Remember , the more the merrier!

I'll (and i'm sure the organizing commitee will also) GREATLY appreciate if all you guys can invite people for the reality event! Do ur best & at least invite ur Close Frens or total strangers if ur scared that after tis event,ur frens wont tok to u =P some frens....tsk3...Especially Shu Run & Ferng Lin as we r targeting ur area ..tolong ya...

if we don do Anything...we will end up with Nothing... SO INVITE them NOW! - It's gonna be a great event & we need everyone to make it happen!

26 th May 2007 is Pentecost Sunday.

10 Days Leading up to that day -> Millions of Christians young and old are praying.

Are you tired of hearing of teenagers trapped in the clutches of the enemy through drug abuse, alcoholism, sexual immorality, or another teenage suicide?!

Stop sulking about the darkness surrounding this generation, get up, grab some friends and let your voices be heard, come and take up your place before God's throne and pray something - anything!

If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land(2 Chron.7: 14)

Its that time of the year again people! The annual Reality Event!

Right so let's get down to nitty-gritty detail!

Date : 2nd June 2007

Location : Subang Park (The park next to SJMC)

Time : (Registration) 8:00 a.m.
(Event Starts) 8:30 a.m.

Registration Fee : RM10/=

Closing date : 27th May 2007

This year's theme is based on Survivor (obviously) and a small part of Amazing Race. Those of you who haven't got your forms yet, do not fret, read on!

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Download the form HERE. (You'll need Adobe Acrobat Reader for this. Get it HERE if you don't have it***)

2. Print it out.

3. Fill it up

4. Submit it to either Jon Tan, Ferng Lin, Sue Ching, Jon Koh or someone who can pass it to any one of them.

Hey peeps, I'm gonna make this brief cause i'm up to my neck in work here.

Quite simply speaking(or typin for this matter), this Sunday, which would be the 15th of April (Hey, doesn't that mean..... Oh look, Friday da 13th ^^) CG will be on and yea... Next up, on the 22nd of April, there'll be Praise and Prayer Celebrations which will be a bundle of fun...

One more thing. remember the reality events we use to have in March every year? Well, it ain't forgotten this year.... more info COMING SOON

SINK, FOLD, SAVE !

The objective is to have a team member draw on the paper a given word. Whoever team that can guess the correct word the fastest gets to SINK, FOLD d opposition or Save an already sunk member.

This team won coz no one touched them .

This team had d BIGGEST TALENTS and brains but are in a rude surprise

This team started to strategize

Teams frantically try to draw something that their members can guess. Remember its the fastest team that correctly guesses gets to attack the opposition

TALENT Team is already SUNK 4 times . SUNK Members can do nothing except stand on the Paper. Mic :- Yes no one wants to sink ME !

Strategy Team got their paper folded. Now here is the catch you need to make sure all Sunk members are on the paper. So the more sunk members and the smaller the paper the harder to LIVE !

This group had to resort to drastic measures. They have 5 members sunk and are trying to stay on a 1/4 size paper.

And thats how you play SINK, FOLD, SAVE !

University term is ending and so there's a rush of assignments due in soon. Its Thursday night, and I'm working on a 2500 word essay, due in on Tuesday morning. Just as a reach the 2000 word count, my computer suddenly shows me the blue screen of death (Its suddenly when your computer screen goes blue and some words come appear to tell you what the error is). I'm no computer expert here, but I know that the blue screen of death is really death. Its dangerous coz it might mean that your hard drive has crashed.


My heart definitely stopped a beat (maybe two), and I totally panicked. TOTALLY freaked out. For obvious reasons, my 2000 word essay was in there. So I had to restart my computer, praying that my work would not be gone. Not only the 2000 words, but my other major project which is my 10,000 word thesis that I was half way through PLUS all the other research material, articles and journals. Yes, kill me now...coz I had not backed-up any of my work. With only 3 weeks for the 10,000 word thesis deadline, it would be impossible to finish it if I start from scratch. And that means I can't graduate!

SO I restart my computer, and for those computer experts, the computer tells me to insert boot-disk. For those other computer illiterates like me, it means that the computer cannot detect Windows, and so I would have to reformat my computer, hence all my work will be gone. VEry very bad news. So I decided to switch the computer off while thinking of what to do. PRAY!

Yes, never underestimate the power of prayer. Even with computers. SO I prayed. And the more I prayed, the louder I became. And after like a minute of praying out loud (practically yelling repeatedly "In Jesus Name, make it work!"). So in faith, after the one minute, I switched my computer back on again...and WAH LAH!! IT WORKED!!

I am SO SURE that God had a hand in it! He definitely pulled some strings/wires/microchips and made my hard drive work. Coz I explained the whole thing to my brother (who is a software engineer) and he said what happened was almost impossible.

With God, all things are possible!!A few lessons for you folks to remember

Lesson 1: Never underestimate the power of prayer! Honestly, when I started praying for my computer, I felt silly. But out of desperation, I didnt have any other choice.

Lesson 2: ALWAYS back up your important stuff. Don't ever think it wont happen to you. I've heard of stories where the 10,000 word thesis was due in the next day, and his file got corrupted or the hard drive crashed etc. Not just work, but photographs, songs...whatever!

Lesson 3: Don't do last minute work!

Yes people, its often easy to use "Pray" for an answer to everything. We use it so often that sometimes we do forget the meaning of prayer, and what it is like to really pray. And sometimes, we pray just for the sake of praying??

I really don't know what would have happened if God didnt rescue me and my work this time, but hey, at least I know He would have still been in control.

Cell Outing . Hooray

On an eventful Friday, Ps Tim invited us CORE to his place for KFC and other yummy stuff. We popped in some good grape juice too for the new year celebration and also played the Ultimate Charade ! . Thx Ps for the memories

Act 1: Spend 15 minutes on Deciding who is in which team. Decide who play where. Decide which side of the field to play. Decide on which side kicks off.

Act 2 : -Spend 30 minutes chasing a super fast player e.g. Justin Lim who is always in a BLUR.... (No Pun Intended)

Act 3:- Spend the next 20 minutes catching breath and resting.

Overall Not bad for a week long exercise. You're now ready for MONDAY !
